An HK P9S2 Police-Combat in 9mm, documented as one of only three known surviving examples. Roller-delayed action with original HK P9 box and a spare magazine.
Heckler & Koch built eight P9S2 Police-Combat pistols, counting the pre-production gun. Only three are known to exist today. This is one of them.
The story starts in the early 1970s. German police wanted a new service pistol, and H&K already had the P9S, a roller-delayed 9mm that borrowed its locking system from the G3 rifle. The Police-Combat was H&K's attempt to tune that design for duty use, and it never went into series production. The clearest change sits at the back of the slide. Where a standard P9S has a manual safety lever, this gun has a plain round-headed pin that holds the control piece in place. You'd carry it decocked and let the double-action trigger do the work.
The slide reads "Mod. P9S2" with "Police-Combat" in flowing script, along with the Oberndorf address and "Made in Germany." The barrel is marked 9 Para. The trigger guard has a hooked, serrated front for a two-hand hold, and the cocking lever sits just behind it, right where the P9 family always put it.
Here's what makes this one more interesting still. The literature says these pistols should carry military BWB proofs. This one wears a civilian proof from 1975 instead. It was bought straight from the factory, and it had already left the H&K archive before that archive was broken up. The pistols still inside were destroyed. The ones already released are the only ones that made it.
Condition is honest. The slide shows light handling marks, and the left grip panel has use scratches, but the red HK grip logo is still bright. It comes in an original Mod. P9 box with a magazine and a signed German write-up on its history.
For an H&K collector, it's hard to find anything rarer than this.
